I’m joining up with the #FridayFive again today. It’s been a while! As I’ve pondered the writing prompt for this week I’ve struggled to come up with 5 things I wish I’d known. Why? Because I’m realistic enough to know that I’m hard headed enough that I probably wouldn’t have listened even if someone told me.
I am so excited to share this series with you! Several blogging friends and I joined forces to put a series together for another blogging friend, Jessica VanSumeren at The Mama Revival Series, to help her out during a busy season. I am so blessed to get to be a part of such an incredible and generous writing community.
Hello Saturday!!! It’s been awhile. My family has been busy with planning our move overseas so weekends, who am I kidding, every single one of our days, have been full full full! I had to take a moment, though, to share some great posts from friends who have compiled amazing lists of meaningful gifts for mom. Take a look at them!

There are so many great posts about Easter out there. I’ve written a few myself. Well, that sounds a bit arrogant. So maybe they’re not great but I thought this Saturday would be a good opportunity to showcase the all in one place for future easy access. For selfish reasons perhaps but I hope others will like knowing they are all here as well. I’m also hoping other bloggers will link up with their All Things Easter posts below. I think it would be great to have a gallery of blogs with all the Easter fun and inspiration right here at our fingertips.
This week’s Saturday Share is centered around my favorite focus – encouragement. Although I’m a writer I’m not so much of a reader. This is why I understand when people don’t read my blog posts. Give me a powerful message of encouragement and motivation in a song or video and it takes root in my soul.
I’m at a retreat this weekend so this one will be short but still very much worth sharing. When I typed the date in the title, I automatically typed the year that our youngest daughter was born because TODAY IS HER BIRTHDAY!
This week’s Friday Five prompt from my friend Kelly Smith at Mrs. Disciple, is Five Names of God. As I planned for this one, my thoughts immediately turned to who God has been to me in recent times when my heart has been in pain. In those times I need simple. I simply need Him. So for this post, for those who are hurting, I’m keeping it simple. I’m not writing too many of my own words because all the best words are in the songs. I hope you feel His love and comfort deeply as you listen to these songs that remind us of who God is. I hope these songs will be balm for your wounded spirit as they have been for mine.
This week’s Saturday Share focus is about things I’m loving. It’s pretty easy in our world to get bogged down with the negative. I sometimes have to force myself to see the good. Yes, you read that correctly. “When your love is sick.” Not when you’re lovesick. What does “lovesick” even mean anyway? I digress… I’m joining in again on a Friday Five link up with Mrs. Disciple. Our writing prompt today was “Five Ways to Express Love”. I know I’m not the only one who has trouble loving well when the marriage isn’t going so well. Sacrificial love, they say. Sacrificial love sounds doable when things are going great but putting it into practice when times are tough doesn’t prove easy.
