When We Have a Plan but God Calls An Audible

Calling an audible… I knew this was sports related term but I had to ask my husband exactly what it meant. He described it as the team having a play in place and then the quarterback notices a need for change that would keep that play from working so he calls an audible and they go a different route. I’ve encountered several instances in my life when we thought we had a play in place, the “quarterback” called an audible and the game changed.

10,000 Days of Together

My husband, Tommy, and I began our forever life together 10,000 days ago. We stood before God and man professing our love and vowing to do all the things young love tells you that you can. We were not prepared. No one told us how hard it would be or if they did we didn’t listen. Young love rarely listens. That may be a good thing.

Five Ways to Love Your Spouse Well When Your Love is Sick

Yes, you read that correctly. “When your love is sick.” Not when you’re lovesick. What does “lovesick” even mean anyway? I digress… I’m joining in again on a Friday Five link up with Mrs. Disciple. Our writing prompt today was “Five Ways to Express Love”. I know I’m not the only one who has trouble loving well when the marriage isn’t going so well. Sacrificial love, they say. Thank You Letters #FridayFive #LinkUp

Today I’m feeling particularly thankful. There have been seasons when the words “Happy” and “Merry” in front of any holiday expression were hard enough to say and nearly impossible to feel. On this day, being mindful of my hurts and all who may be hurting, I am reminded of so many things I can be thankful for even in the thick of it.

Marriage Stories – And Then I Met You, A Guest Post by Aundi Kolber

Marriage can be both ridiculously wonderful and ridiculously hard. My husband and I will be married for 27 years this month. Our oldest daughter and her husband also got married in November and just celebrated their 2nd anniversary. I have asked a few friends to share their hearts with us during the month of November on the topic of marriage. I’m so honored that they have agreed to empty their hearts so our hearts can be filled.
