Seven Years of September 3rd’s

I need to tell you something. I’m coming to you vulnerable, emptying my heart in hopes that it will fill yours. When it (the thing I need to tell you) happened recently, I knew it was a hug from God that had to be shared. My hope is that this piece of my story that has been private for seven years of September 3rd’s will encourage you as you wait on the Lord even when He seems to be moving at a snail’s pace.

My husband, Tommy, and I began our forever life together 10,000 days ago. We stood before God and man professing our love and vowing to do all the things young love tells you that you can. We were not prepared. No one told us how hard it would be or if they did we didn’t listen. Young love rarely listens. That may be a good thing.

Me: I did this to you. Jesus: I did this FOR you!

When our youngest daughter, Anna, was about 4, her forehead made unfortunate contact with the pedal on her older brother’s bicycle. I can’t remember how that happened exactly and honestly am struggling to visualize it but it happened nonetheless. It left a gaping wound on the left side of my beautiful baby’s forehead and as you can imagine, blood streamed down her face at record speed.
