COURAGE is a much-needed quality of spirit for all of us as we face the challenges along the way on our journeys. 

The very first thing God asked me to do soon after I was saved that required GREAT COURAGE was for me to go to my alcoholic and abusive father and ask for forgiveness for my responses to his actions. Whoa…I had only been a Christian for a short time when the Holy Spirit encountered me, asking me to go and ask his forgiveness.  Looking back I can see that I would have gone no further without this being taken care of. God knew. So I obeyed. It was NOT easy.

Today Is the Day to Believe What I Don’t Believe – A Guest Post by Kelly Smith

This post, Your Best Story Happened 10 Minutes Ago, seems to have started something. In that post, I explained how Liz Curtis Higgs said, “Your best story will happen in the next 10 minutes.” That quote inspired me. There was quite a buzz about it on Twitter and the quote maker herself, Liz Curtis Higgs, even wrote back to me about it. I was SO honored and I will admit, did a little fangirl dance. I love Liz Curtis Higgs so much. I also love my friend, Kelly Smith from Mrs. Disciple. Kelly graciously sent her “My Last 10 Minutes” story to share with you. I just love it when friends come over to share. Thank you, Kelly, you are welcome anytime.

This Is the Church

This is the Church

This is the Church.

Forgive me for taking pictures during church but it was a sacred moment that I had to permanently capture. It needed to be more than a mental memory because those memories (at my age) are all too fleeting these days.

This is about a woman who was sitting in church alone… with tear-stained cheeks and a used up tissue. 

 

 

This is about a woman who was alone. Until she wasn’t.
